Planet Fitness^® franchisees consider themselves family, and one franchise group is remembering family and giving back to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. To honor their father who passed away in 2018, Sal and Stan DeMartinis announced the establishment of the Stanley DeMartinis Sr. Scholarship Fund. To honor Stanley Sr.’s legacy, the scholarship was created to recognize youth from the Salesian Boys & Girls Club of East Boston who show values of dedication to the community, hard work and generosity.

On June 15, two recipients of the scholarship were awarded $2,000 each to further their education. One of the winners is pursuing a degree in Psychology, and the other winner is pursuing a dual degree in Health Sciences and Dental Hygiene. Moving forward, the franchise group plans to continue to provide annual scholarships to local winners. Depending on the number of applicants, the group may offer up to five scholarships in future years. 

Alder Partners has shown its support of the local Boys & Girls Club for years. The franchise also built a Mini Judgement Free Zone^® at the Salesian Boys & Girls Club of East Boston in 2022. The JFZ features 13 pieces of cardio and strength equipment. The space offers a safe, judgement-free space for children.
