Planet Fitness^® franchisees are constantly making good use of used equipment. Like many things, used fitness equipment can be recycled and donated to a good cause. When Baseline Fitness’s Des Moines club location was looking to get rid of its old equipment, the group decided to generously donate it to the Des Moines Fire Department.

The franchise group donated nine elliptical machines to the fire department. The group has six clubs in the Des Moines area, making the local first responders an obvious choice for the equipment donation.

The local fire department was incredibly thankful for the group’s generosity. “You know with tight budgets and things like that, it was a perfect combination of they had some equipment they were willing to part with, and we had some that we could definitely use,” Des Moines Fire Department Capt. Chad Smeines told reporters at Who13 Des Moines.

Baseline Fitness was honored to give back to a group of first responders who help the local community members – many of whom are members of the Des Moines PF^®  location.
