Jost ADK Inc. Celebrates Opening of Club in Littleton, Colorado

Jost ADK, which is owned by the Jost family, recently celebrated the opening of their newest Planet Fitness® club in Littleton, Colorado. A local developer built the club from the ground up as an anchor for the location’s shopping center, which is under redevelopment.

The team faced some construction, permit and weather challenges, but were successful thanks to open communication with all parties. The Main and Main location has strong demographics and attracts visitors from the shopping center.

On Dec. 4, over 50 friends, team members and community members came out for a ribbon-cutting event at the club. Several special guests attended, including the Denver Nuggets cheerleaders, Colorado International United Miss Rockshana Desances and Colorado Rockies mascot Dinger. Littleton Councilman Patrick Driscoll also joined and said a few words, expressing his excitement about the new business creating great opportunities for the city of Littleton.

The club ran a founder’s promotion rate of 25 cents down and $19.99 per month, encouraging community members to become part of the PF® family. Jost ADK raffled off several gift cards and a Denver Nuggets prize pack, and presented a check to the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Denver to promote its anti-bullying initiative.

“We are looking forward to bringing a healthy lifestyle to the people of Littleton and the surrounding community,” said Liz Gilbert, director of marketing for Jost ADK.

Teen Summer Challenge Winner Visits Impact Fitness Location

The Teen Summer Challenge®, conducted by Planet Fitness® clubs across North America last summer, brought teenagers into gyms to work out. Impact Fitness’ club in North Vancouver, British Columbia, recently awarded one of those teenagers a $500 Teen Summer Challenge scholarship.

The winner, 17-year-old Helia, will use the funds to pay for tuition at her university starting this fall. On Dec. 18, Helia came to visit the club for a celebration where she was presented with a check and took photos with the Impact Fitness team.

“The scholarship shows that Planet Fitness is a Judgement Free Zone® for everyone,” said Bethany Obloy, vice president of marketing at Impact Fitness. “It also helps promote and encourage positivity for members in the gym and outside in their everyday life.”

Helia was extremely grateful for the scholarship and enjoyed working out at the North Vancouver club last summer. She raved about her experience to her friends and plans on coming back to the club this summer before she heads off to college.

Grand Rapids Co-Op Sponsors Local New Year’s Eve Celebration

The Grand Rapids Co-Op, made up of the Monterosso group, PF Michigan and Impact Fitness brought in the new year together by sponsoring the Grand Rapids Ball Drop. Even in the cold Michigan weather, many members of the community came out to celebrate.

The Planet Fitness® sponsorship included signage on the main stage, radio commercials, digital advertising and event targeting. PF® team members attended the event and handed out coffee and hot chocolate to warm people up. Live bands played throughout the night, building up the momentum for the ball drop.

Attendees enjoyed delicious foods and drinks from the food trucks at the event. When the ball finally dropped at midnight, downtown Grand Rapids was lit up with a firework show.

The Co-Op is looking forward to a successful 2020 for their clubs and hopes to sponsor the ball drop event again in the future.

Lev Management Co-Sponsors Annual Turkey Trot 5K for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands

Each year, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands hosts its Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving morning. The race is one of the largest annual events raising money for programs put on by the Boys & Girls Clubs, which serve 11,200 youth in South Carolina.

Lev Management, owned by Brian Bobenage, co-sponsored the 2019 race, along with Sunshine Fitness, for its fourth year. The race had over 1,200 runners and raised more than $40,000.

The sponsorship included Planet Fitness®-branded T-shirts, water bottles and event advertising through billboards and print. Winners of each age group received PF®– branded gym bags, and overall winners got a complimentary Black Card® membership. Over 15 PF team members came out on Thanksgiving morning for the race, some running and some volunteering by handing out goodies and awards.

As one of its biggest events, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands relies on Planet Fitness’ support to help make the Turkey Trot 5K a success each year, but the relationship extends past the race. In addition to sponsoring the annual race, Lev Management conducts periodic fundraising campaigns and makes a monetary donation to a local chapter at each club’s grand-opening event.

Brian Bobenage serves on the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands and helps facilitate the relationship. “The Boys & Girls Club’s mission perfectly aligns with our own mission here at Planet Fitness, allowing for a true partnership toward the Judgement Free Generation®,” said Bobenage. He said the 5K “is a great way to start off Thanksgiving and the holiday season” and is looking forward to another successful partnership in 2020.
