Taymax Makes Local Community Greener with Earth Day Trash Pickup

For the third year in a row, Taymax’s HQ team helped make the world a greener and cleaner place during its trash pickup event near its New Hampshire office. In honor of Earth Day, staff members with Taymax picked up trash in the office park around the Taymax headquarters on April 23. There were 20 staff members who pitched in to help make the area cleaner.

“Participating in the Earth Day cleanup was a wonderful experience, uniting us all in a shared mission to care for our planet and make a tangible difference in our community. We drive these roads every day or take walks during lunch, and hope our small act encourages others to chip in and get involved in their own communities,” said Elan Sablich, director of information technology for Taymax.

Each team member worked hard to pick up trash. Taymax’s employees even worked together to pick up a sink and toolbox found in the area. Not only did the Taymax staff make a positive difference in their community, but they also were able to leave the experience knowing they helped make the world a better place.

“Taking part in our Earth Day cleanup was a truly rewarding experience. It highlighted the power of collective action and the difference we can make when we work together. I’m proud to be part of a company that values environmental stewardship and actively contributes to the well-being of our community,” said Megan Myhaver, marketing specialist for Taymax.

Taymax Races Ahead at DONNA Marathon Expo

Taymax Group’s Jacksonville team laced their sneakers and attended the DONNA Marathon expo as a vendor in February. The DONNA Marathon weekend occurred Feb. 2-4 in Jacksonville, and included a 5K, DONNA Dash, half marathon, marathon, ultramarathon, event challenges and a Health & Wellness Expo. The event raised money for the DONNA Foundation, an organization that gives financial assistance and support to those living with breast cancer while also funding research to find a cure for the disease.

The DONNA Health & Wellness Expo was held Feb. 2-3. Taymax was able to share the benefits of being a Planet Fitness® member with a wide range of people, as there were about 10,000-14,000 runners in attendance at the expo. The franchise group had a Planet Fitness booth at the expo, and they brought the love of fitness to the event. They had a prize wheel with giveaways, such as cinch bags, water bottles, keychains and more. There was also brand signage and collateral on hand for giveaways. There were nine staff members with Taymax volunteering at the expo. It is estimated that there were about 500 members who came up to Taymax’s expo booth.

Tiffany Taylor, a general manager of PF® Jacksonville (Baymeadows), went above and beyond to support the race, as she ran the marathon! It was her first ever marathon, and she decided to run it to prove to herself that she can do tough things. She noted that it was both a physical and mental challenge, but with the support of the staff at Planet Fitness Baymeadows and the entire Florida team, she was able to cross the finish line.

“I wanted all the people at the DONNA and those battling cancer to feel the love and strength that I got from my PF community. And what better way than to showcase who Planet Fitness really is than at this expo? The event gave us the opportunity to show that PF isn’t just the Judgement Free Zone® but the encouragement zone, the don’t give up zone, the you aren’t alone zone,” said Taylor. “The thousands of attendees from runners, survivors, spectators to cheerleaders were able to see what Planet Fitness really stands for and what they get when they join our clubs. It’s not just a gym membership – it’s family and community, and without my PF family, I would have never been able to finish my first marathon.”

Taymax Group plans on taking a victory lap and participating again in 2025 with the DONNA Marathon weekend.
