DJD Fitness Changes Lives of Those Who Save Lives
First responders must stay in shape to continue to serve their communities. A great workout ensures that first responders stay fit, so they can be the best they possibly can be in their community. This past summer, DJD Fitness donated thousands of dollars’ worth of fitness equipment to the Easton Police Department in Easton, Pennsylvania. After donating, they learned how much the fitness equipment really made a difference in their local community.
Several news outlets heard about the franchise group’s generosity and covered the story on the news. After the news was published, several local police departments and fire departments began reaching out to DJD Fitness. DJD franchisee Milan Dalsania met with about five different first responder organizations to find out ways they could support these local organizations. After meeting with these police and fire chiefs, Dalsania discovered that in several of the facilities, the equipment was worn and outdated. This made it clear just how much of a difference DJD Fitness was able to make with the equipment donations and how impactful donating fitness equipment is to the local communities Planet Fitness has clubs in.
“These men and women put their lives on the line for our communities every single day, yet the tools they have to take care of their own health are often an afterthought,” said Dalsania. “After those visits, I made up my mind. I will continue to donate equipment to police and fire organizations that are in need. They genuinely need our help. I would strongly encourage all our locations to reach out to their local police departments and fire companies to see how we can support them. I truly believe this is bigger than any one location. This is something we should embrace as a Planet Fitness® brand. There’s an opportunity here to turn this into a national movement – one where officers in uniform know they can reach out to us and where we step up to support the people who protect our communities every day.”
