EPIC Fitness sponsored the annual Detroit Lions Academy Field Day event to bring fun, fitness activities and games for students and staff. On May 14, staff and students participated in activities such as a dodgeball tournament, 3-on-3 basketball tournament and a flag football tournament. On top of the fun, fitness-related activities, the Field Day event included music by DJ Ray, food trucks and a Motor City Sweet Treats Ice Cream Truck. There was truly something for everyone in attendance.

The Detroit Lions and Planet Fitness^® staff members were invited to volunteer, participate and compete alongside the students in the field day festivities. Ten of EPIC Fitness’s staff members went to the Field Day event and volunteered to help run the event. This also gave them an opportunity to share more information about Planet Fitness and the High School Summer Pass program.

With the High School Summer Pass program occurring over the summer, the franchise group’s participation with the field day strengthened the brand’s focus on providing affordable fitness to all ages. The Detroit Lions Academy is a school in Detroit, Michigan, that acts as a school of second chances for kids who have been expelled from their previous school and need help turning around their behavior or grades. The school includes sixth-12th graders and helps the students get back on track.
