Houston Fitness Partners Promotes Fitness and Fun at Football Summer Camp
Sports can be a great way for kids to stay active in a fun and engaging way while promoting teamwork and confidence. For the first time, Houston Fitness Partners sponsored Joe Mixon’s Football ProCamp, which brought together kids ages 6-14 for a day of fun, football and fitness. The football camp occurred on June 7 at the Methodist Training Center in Houston, Texas.
Throughout the day at the camp, Joe Mixon, professional football running back for the Houston Texans, and other football coaches provided tips and hands-on instruction for the kids. As part of HFP’s sponsorship, one of their certified fitness trainers, Reggie Hemphill, was onsite to lead campers through warm-up stretches and get them ready to hit the field.
The participating kids were taught fundamental football skills, while being able to play non-contact games and contests. The kids all received a souvenir autograph from Mixon, a camp team photo with Joe, a limited-edition Joe Mixon Football ProCamp T-shirt and more. About 150 to 200 kids took part in the camp.
Houston Fitness Partners loved supporting this event and helping the kids stay active, build confidence and learn from the pros! “I can definitely say that it was such a fun and inspiring day! Seeing Joe Mixon and CJ Stroud out there hyping up the kids, running drills and just having a blast was awesome. It was a great way for these kids to get moving, learn some new skills and feel that boost of confidence – and that’s what we’re all about at Planet Fitness,” said Abby Salenga, manager of marketing and communications at Houston Fitness Partners.
