Impact Fitness and Michigan Co-op Set Kids Up for Success with School Supply Drive

The High School Summer Pass program is a great way for Planet Fitness® to provide a safe and free place for teens to work out. However, outside of the gym, PF® franchisees recently provided ways to help kids succeed academically. With the start of a new school year, Impact Fitness ensured their local students showed up prepared and confident.

From July 21 to Aug. 10, Impact Fitness partnered with its fellow Michigan co-op partners, EPIC Fitness, Red Mountain and Pinnacle Fit Clubs, for its annual back-to-school supply drive. Planet Fitness members and staff members were encouraged to donate a variety of school supplies, including pens, pencils, pencil boxes, backpacks, lunch boxes, hand sanitizer and water bottles. Across 131 clubs in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, as well as 10 clubs in British Columbia and Ontario, Canada, thousands of items were collected for kids in need.

This year, Impact Fitness really tried to localize their efforts to make a deeper impact within their communities. While they put a huge emphasis on PF’s national partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of America, they understand that this initiative doesn’t always resonate with Impact’s rural clubs because there are no B&GC chapters nearby. Therefore, Impact decided to have some of their club locations partner with local schools to help members support students in their neighborhood, giving members a better feeling of community impact and involvement. Impact Fitness was happy to support their local community members’ education with the school supply drive.
