Lev Management Helps Sponsor Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands Turkey Day 5K
This year, Lev Management helped sponsor the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands Turkey Day 5K, which took place on Thanksgiving Day. The event was to fundraise for the local chapter of the Boys & Girls Club of America.
It wasn’t Lev Management’s first rodeo, either. “We have participated in this event for the last several years, and it is the largest source of fundraising for the local chapter,” said Kristin Bobenage, human resources director for Lev Management. Bobenage went on to explain that the race is the third largest 5K in South Carolina, and it is continuing to grow.

The group’s lead fitness coordinator, Joshua Jeter, led two pre-race warmups – one for the 5K and one for the 1K Family Fun Run, and both of these warmups were a great success and lots of fun. Lev Management also had a host of team members ready to assist. “Our volunteers assisted with the race registration and awards presentation, including handing out medals to all participants and presenting a one-year Black Card membership to overall winners,” Bobenage explained. Lev Management also donated Planet Fitness® bottled water for the event.
COVID, of course, is still a major concern. Like last year, the race also offered a virtual component to allow people to participate in an environment where they felt safe. “All virtual participants were given a complimentary Planet Fitness day pass to encourage them to participate via one of our state-of-the-art treadmills, and we encouraged them to snap a victory selfie at our in-club virtual finish line,” Bobenage said.

Even if events are not returning in full capacity, franchise groups are finding a little creativity goes a long way to allow the community to still interact with Planet Fitness!
