Midwest Fitness Partners Makes Big Strides in Supporting the American Cancer Society
At Planet Fitness®, it is the norm for franchisees to give back to not only gym members but also to the local community. Midwest Fitness Partners stepped up to support the American Cancer Society by being a $50,000 presenting sponsor for the organization’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and 5K. The race occurred during Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Oct. 19 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Through this event, Midwest Fitness Partners was able to highlight the brand’s mission of promoting health and wellness in local communities while supporting a great cause.
The race day was full of high energy and hope, in part due to Midwest Fitness Partners’ support and hard work. The American Cancer Society works hard to improve the lives of those impacted by cancer, and the race was the perfect way to show support for cancer patients and their families. Ten staff members with Midwest Fitness Partners volunteered their time to help on race day. They led the pre-race warm-ups, engaging participants with their enthusiasm and motivating the local community to stay active.
This was Midwest Fitness Partners’ first time as a presenting sponsor of this race, and it was a huge success. There were over 25,000 runners who laced up their shoes and raced for a good cause.
“We are incredibly proud to have partnered with the American Cancer Society for such an important event,” said Mike Hamilton, chief operating officer and founding partner of Midwest Fitness Partners. “This cause is near and dear to many, and we believe that together, through collective efforts like Making Strides, we can support cancer patients, survivors and ongoing research.”
