Ohana Growth Partners Goes Above and Beyond for Grand Openings
Grand openings of Planet Fitness® clubs are always exciting for any community. Ohana Growth Partners celebrated the club openings of its Takoma Park and Wheaton, Maryland, clubs with action-packed grand opening events at each location. Many came out to celebrate, as there were 200 attendees at the Takoma Park grand opening event and 350 at the Wheaton celebration.
On April 9, the franchise group held ribbon-cutting ceremonies with the Montgomery County and Prince George’s County Chambers of Commerce and local elected officials. The grand opening events included remotes with 93.9 WKYS. There were giveaways and prizes, including a 65-inch Smart TV, Amazon Echo Dot, Apple 10.2 in iPad, UMD Terps, Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals game tickets and merchandise, as well as specialty items. There was also a free 30-Minute Circuit Class taught by the founders of Ohana Growth Partners, Victor and Lynne Brick, and club trainers. To top off the fun, Ohana Growth Partners also presented a $1,000 check to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington.
The day also included special appearances from the Washington Capitals’ mascot, Slapshot, and the University of Maryland mascot, Testudo. Additionally, several local athletes came by to support the event, including University of Maryland student-athletes Tyler Baruch and Allie Kubek, former athlete for the Washington Capitals Alan May, and former athlete for the Washington Wizards Gheorge Muresan.
“We’ve integrated NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) to enhance our grand-opening events. Standing at 7 feet tall, esteemed former NBA athlete, Gheorge Muresan, was a particular favorite with many attendees eager to capture moments with him in photos,” said Ohana Growth Partners Chief Marketing Officer Josh Gerber. “We look forward to continuing our relationships with NIL athletes as we build and open more Planet Fitness clubs throughout the country.”
Both of the new clubs offer a lot of space and features for members looking to get fit this summer. The Wheaton club has 28,919 square feet, and the Takoma Park club has 28,782 square feet of space. Both clubs feature cardio and strength equipment, a 30-Minute Express Circuit, locker rooms, a Black Card Spa with HydroMassage beds, massage chairs, tanning and a Recovery Lounge.
