Ohana Growth Partners’ Lynne Brick Wins Health & Fitness Association Award

The Planet Fitness® system is made up of many highly successful individuals, who are often recognized for their hard work and dedication. The Health & Fitness Association, previously IHRSA, honored Lynne Brick with its 2024 Julie Main Award for Women in Leadership at the 2024 Health & Fitness Association Convention & Trade Show.

Lynne Brick is the vice president of fitness, owner and former president of Ohana Growth Partners, and the president/owner of Brick Bodies Fitness. She is also the co-founder of the John W. Brick Mental Health Foundation, along with her husband, Victor Brick. The two established the foundation in honor of Victor’s brother, who struggled with schizophrenia. They wanted a way to help others facing mental health challenges. The foundation encourages self-care approaches, such as exercise, nutrition and mind-body practices, to treat mental health problems and promote mental wellness. The duo stays busy, as they both sit on the Board of Advisors for John Hopkins Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

Lynne is also involved with the PFIFC and franchisee community. She was previously on the IFC Member Experience Committee and currently serves on the Government Relations Committee.

During the awards ceremony, Lynne was recognized for her embodiment of the awards meaning. “IHRSA celebrates the legacy of Julie Main by presenting the 2024 Woman Leader Award to a woman who exemplifies what Julie Main stood for: courage, perseverance, excellence and professionalism. This year’s honoree, Lynne Brick, embodies the award not only through the entrepreneurial spirit that she exemplifies in the years of work at Brick Bodies, which she co-founded with her husband, Victor, but also through their efforts as one of the largest Planet Fitness franchisees.”

Previously, Lynne received the 1990 IDEA (The Association for Fitness Professionals) International Instructor of the Year and 1994 BodyLife International Presenter of the Year awards. The Bricks also earned the inaugural PF Franchisee of the Year, and they both sat on the original Franchise Advisory Council. Additionally, the Bricks were 2020 Debra Simon Leadership in Mental Health award recipients.

Lynne said she was “honored to receive the Health & Fitness Association’s Woman Leader of the Year Award in honor of Julie Main,” adding that she has “always been inspired by Julie and so many other women leaders who have had crosses to bear and yet persevere in spite of adversity.”
