Ohana Growth Partners Promotes Healthy Habits with Bike to Work Day Participation

Biking can be a great form of exercise, as well as a healthy, eco-friendly way to travel. To encourage more people to bike, Montgomery County Maryland Executive Marc Elrich and the Montgomery County Department of Transportation encouraged residents to celebrate Bike to Work Day on May 15.

Bikers who took part in Bike to Work Day were able to visit dozens of free pit stops throughout the area. There were refreshments, music and local vendor displays, including 14 vendor stops within Montgomery County.

The Ohana Growth Partners team from the Silver Spring South club joined the list of local organizations and brands at the Veterans Plaza pit stop in Silver Spring. Three staff members – General Manager Nate Owens, Assistant General Manager Bryceida Rivera and Fitness Trainer Salim Salembere – distributed Planet Fitness®-branded frisbees, goodie bags, branded pens and wristbands. They spread awareness about this year’s High School Summer Pass program to the local bikers. They also raffled off some additional PF® merchandise, which drew even more people to the table.

Staff members with Ohana Growth Partners handed out PF-branded giveaways to bikers who participated in the Bike to Work Day on May 15, increasing Planet Fitness visibility with those who find health and fitness important.

“We had strong engagement at our table and were able to connect with a wide range of attendees,” Owens said. “One of the most exciting takeaways was connecting with representatives from Nike, who expressed interest in a potential collaboration with Planet Fitness. It was a great visibility opportunity for the PF brand and another step forward in community engagement for our club.”
