On Oct. 14, 10 employees of a Roanoke, Virginia, Planet Fitness® traveled to their local Boys & Girls Club to present the organization with a $2,500 check and spend some time with the children.
The check was donated by Asbell Planet Services, LLC, which owns and manages eight PF® clubs. The funds will be used for operational expenses during 2017. In addition to presenting the check, employees walked the children through various stretches and exercises before educating them on the STOMP Out Bullying campaign.
“I’m really happy to be able to work with the local Boys & Girls Clubs to help our youth develop good habits that will serve them well in school, in business and with physical health, as well as learning the virtues of kindness and camaraderie,” said franchisee Bill Asbell. “This organization does such great work, as you can witness when you go to their centers, so our PF team looks forward to developing this relationship even further as it’s good for my soul. I hope we’re making friends along the way with the children at The Boys & Girls Clubs of America.”
Asbell Planet Services employees previously volunteered their time at the local organization, but is now ramping up involvement with the STOMP Out Bullying program, which so closely aligns with the morals of Planet Fitness as a company.
