Taymax Changes Thousands of Young Lives through Back 2 School Drive

From July 23-Sept. 8, Taymax partnered with the Boys & Girls Club Canada for a Back 2 School Drive, collecting donations for various Boys & Girls Club chapters throughout Ontario and Atlantic, Canada. There was a total of 27 clubs in Canada that participated in the drive.

“On behalf of BGC Albion, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude to Planet Fitness® for their generous contribution of school supplies. Their support will make a significant impact on the lives of children in the Rexdale community. Thanks to their kindness and eagerness to give back, we’ve been able to provide over $1,700 worth of essential school supplies and books that many wouldn’t have had otherwise,” said Chelsea Davenport, program manager at BGC Albion.

Thousands of items, ranging from notebooks, pens, markers, school bags and anything else that could help kids with their schoolwork, were collected across the 27 clubs. It is estimated that over 2,000 children were positively impacted by this drive.

“The next generation is our future, and a school supply donation invests in this future by improving the resources available to students. Not only does this show our care for the families and educators in our communities but also portrays the kind of commitment to the high standard of involvement our clubs can consistently have with dedication and thought for others. I was thrilled that the initial effort put forward at our Burlington, Ontario, Canada, location was matched by all the other Taymax clubs that participated,” said Shannon May, general manager of Planet Fitness Burlington.
