Taymax Creates Mini Gym for San Antonio Police Department
Taymax is dedicated to giving back to the community and making a difference in the lives of the people supported by their clubs, and one meaningful opportunity to reach out to the community came when the organization was able to build a mini gym for the San Antonio Police Department. Volunteers made over a 1,500-square-foot space by painting the walls, adding new rubber flooring and donating more than 30 pieces of strength and cardio equipment, along with a full dumbbell rack and set.
“We had a request come in from the SAPD asking if we had any old equipment we could donate,” said Lindsey Calvin, manager of communications and club experience for Taymax. “We saw this as a great opportunity to give back to a community that has been a large part of the success of Taymax.” Calvin went on to explain that San Antonio was the first market Taymax entered when it started out as a Planet Fitness® franchise group more than 10 years ago.
“Additionally, our CEO, Tim Kelleher, is a former police officer himself. Therefore, we embrace any opportunity that we can to honor the hard work and dedication of the men and women in the line of duty,” Calvin said. “This was a project we were thrilled and honored to complete for the officers of San Antonio. Their excitement and appreciation was truly humbling.”
The new space was a team effort, and the end result is a great mini gym for the men and women in blue at the San Antonio Police Department.
