The holidays are a special time of year, particularly for children. Capturing the magic of the season for children who need a bit more joy is rewarding in so many ways. When Taymax was introduced to Gabby, a child diagnosed with metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD) in 2020, the franchise group stepped in to share the wonder of the holidays.

In 2019 and 2020, Taymax offered support to Grady’s Gifts, an organization founded by a young man and his family after he was diagnosed with adrenoleukodystrophy. Grady’s Gifts provides families of seriously ill children with gift cards to purchase presents during the holidays. Through those efforts, Grady and his mother introduced Taymax to Gabby and her family. Taymax contributed $1,500 to Gabby’s Stars to help fight MLD.

The Taymax corporate team had the opportunity to meet Gabby, who loves Minnie Mouse and Jojo Siwa, and it was an impactful experience. “Her smile brightens the room,” said Kelly Fleming, chief of staff at Taymax Group. “Taymax Group was honored to donate to such a wonderful family.”

Giving back to those who need it most is something Planet Fitness^® groups can get behind. By helping a child at most joyous time of year, Taymax ensured the holidays were a little brighter for Gabby and her family.
