Taymax Employee Saves 25-Year-Old’s Life
Not all heroes wear capes – some wear Planet Fitness® employee uniforms. On May 22, a Taymax front desk employee, Robert Spencer, was working his shift when someone rushed into the Nashville (Bellevue) club from a nearby Pizza Hut and yelled out, asking if anyone knew CPR.
As a retired metro firefighter, Spencer stepped in and performed CPR on a 25-year-old male who had gone into cardiac arrest. The person had been down for a few minutes with no pulse and no sign of breathing. By the time the ambulance came, he had helped the individual regain a pulse. Thanks to Spencer being there, the young man has now returned home and is recovering with his family.
Spencer worked for Nashville Metro Fire for over 30 years. After his retirement, he joined the team at Taymax’s Planet Fitness location in Bellevue in September 2023. His diligence and care for his job has not only saved a life but has also had a positive impact on the rest of his team.
“Spencer is the type of team member who takes care of everyone. He makes sure everyone is happy and healthy, and if you ever need to talk, he is there. He is always helping someone, whether it’s someone on the team or a member on the gym floor. He comes into work every day excited to be here and conquer whatever the day has for him,” said Anecia Solorzano, general manager at the Bellevue location. “Spencer would give the shirt off his back if someone needed it. He works hard and enjoys what he does. We absolutely enjoy having him on our team at Bellevue.”
