Taymax Supports Epilepsy Awareness with Annual Walk
Six of Taymax’s Vaughan (Woodbridge), Ontario, team members participated in the yearly Purple Walk in College Park on June 15. The event allowed participants to help spread epilepsy awareness, while raising funds for Epilepsy Toronto’s programs and services.
Every year, there’s around 700 participants who walk 5 kilometers through the streets of downtown Toronto, painting the town purple – a color representing epilepsy awareness. This year’s event was the 10th annual Purple Walk, and it was a giant success, as it raised around $134,000 for Epilepsy Toronto.
The franchise’s Toronto (College Park), Ontario, location also donated PF® swag to the team’s participants, allowing them to show off their Planet Fitness® pride for the event. The franchise is excited to hopefully be a bigger partner next year, capitalizing on the shared purple themes, and the proximity of the event to its College Park club.
KJ Yeboah, general manager of the Vaughan location, called the event “truly magical,” adding, “Together, we made a significant impact and demonstrated our commitment to community involvement and awareness.”
