Texas Franchisees Show Support to Communities Impacted by Flooding

When severe flooding swept through the Texas Hill Country and Central Texas communities in July, many families were left to pick up the pieces of their homes and businesses in the aftermath. However, Planet Fitness® franchisees with clubs in Texas did not let their local community members go through this terrible natural disaster alone. Instead, they rallied together to raise money for their neighbors in need.

Franchise groups, including Excel Fitness, Taymax Group, Black Duck Partners, The Maddox Group, Planet Fitness of El Paso Texas and Las Cruces New Mexico, Houston Fitness Partners and United Fitness Partners, all donated $500 per club they operate in Texas to support the families affected by the floods in the state. In total, the PF® franchise groups donated a combined $100,000. These donations were used to support the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country’s Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, delivering critical emergency financial assistance, mental health services and long-term recovery support to communities impacted in Kerr, Ingram, Hunt and neighboring counties.

The franchisee groups were happy to give back and lessen the burden for their members and families who live in the area. This fundraising effort showed how Planet Fitness franchisees are more than willing to support their members, inside and outside the club, and in times of success and strife.

“The devastation in the Texas Hill Country has deeply affected our teams in the area and the communities we serve,” said CJ Bouchard, CEO of Excel Fitness. “In moments like these, we believe it’s our responsibility to stand together and take action. By joining forces with our fellow Planet Fitness franchisees, we hope this donation offers immediate relief and long-term support to families facing the difficult road ahead. Our hearts are with everyone impacted, and we remain committed to helping the region heal and rebuild.”
