United Fitness Partners Connects with Runners at Annual Marathon Weekend Expo
Marathon races bring in people from all over who are passionate about fitness and improving their health, making them the perfect place to reach potential new members. To train for a marathon, you need to not only have endurance but also the strength to cross the finish line, and many runners go to a gym to cross-train. United Fitness Partners aimed to reach these runners by hosting a table at the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon Weekend Expo on April 24-25.
United Fitness Partners’ staff members offered booth visitors a chance to shoot basketball hoops and score extra entries to a raffle prize. The prizes included gift cards and a PF® Black Card Membership. They also gave out swag items, including PF-branded drawstring bags, water bottles, towels, keychains and lip balm.
The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is an annual race that means a lot to the community, as it commemorates the tragic bombing that happened in the city in 1995. United Fitness Partners had its PF booth right next to the T-shirt pickup station where over 20,000 runners gathered. This was a prime location and resulted in a lot of positive foot traffic and engagement at their booth.
The United Fitness Partners staff team were able to collect hundreds of prospect emails each day of the expo. As a result, the event was a great success in helping the franchisee group connect with their local community and bring in prospective members, and it was a memorable experience for everyone involved.
“One of the most impactful moments for me personally was meeting a participant with a disability who has completed more than 86 races across the United States and earned four gold medals representing Team USA. Hearing stories like his is what makes events like this so meaningful. The opportunity to connect with people, hear their experiences and celebrate perseverance is what drew me into the fitness industry in the first place and strongly aligns with Planet Fitness®’ mission of creating connections and positively impacting lives,” said District Manager at United Fitness Partners Cameron Rodriguez.
